Duffield Squad Seeks Donations

Duffield Fire and Rescue is announcing a fund-raising event to seek donations for the purchase of thermal imaging cameras.

Thermal imaging cameras can assist firefighters and rescue personnel with finding fire sources quickly, improving search and rescue efforts, aid in seeing through smoke filled areas, identify hazardous materials, along with many other applications.

This technology can greatly assist in reducing fire damage and help save lives.

The cost of one thermal imaging camera is in excess of $10,000 therefore local community support will be critical in helping the department make its purchase.

“Please join Duffield Fire and Rescue in trying to make our community a safer place to live,” urged Duffield Fire & Rescue Captain Scott Jerrell.

In response to fund-raising efforts, BB&T Bank in Duffield is accepting donations on behalf of the department. Donations may also be sent to Duffield Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 297, Duffield, Va. 24244.
