2006 Guide
 to Municipal Elections

The 2006 guide to municipal elections is designed to inform you, the voter, of the candidates running for office in the May 2, 2006 General Election.  Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.  We encourage you to let your voice be heard by voting for the candidates of your choice.

A total of 42 candidates are on the May 2 ballot with a large number of candidates running in the four largest towns. In the smaller towns, write-in candidates will be selected to fill vacant seats.

Office Sought: Clinchport Mayor

Personal information: Currently serving her sixth term, Page has five adult children and volunteered from 1965-1993 for the Scott County Head Start program. She is 61 years old.

Larry Wayne Rhoton

Office Sought: Clinchport Town Council

Personal Information: Rhoton is completing his second year on the council. He is married to Anna Marie Rhoton and the couple has one adult son, Anthony Wayne Rhoton. He graduated from high school in 1975 and is currently retired. Rhoton is 47 years old. His hobbies include playing the guitar which he has been doing for the past 30 years.

Others seeking positions on the Clinchport Town Council are Cathy Akers, Sylvia Bowen and Ralph Qualls. There are five seats on the council.
