The family wishes to thank everyone who has helped and supported them with encouraging words, prayers and financial assistance. The family has been greatly overwhelmed by the care and compassion the St. Jude’s staff showed them.

The day after Dustin was diagnosed, the hospital sent their plane along with a doctor and a nurse to pick up Dustin and his mother to fly them to Memphis, Tenn. at no charge.

Patients at St. Jude are accepted by physician referral when the children or adolescents are newly diagnosed or has a disease under research and treatment by the St. Jude staff.

St. Jude is the only pediatric research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. Founded by entertainer Danny Thomas, the facility opened its doors in 1962.

About 4,700 patients are seen at St. Jude yearly, most of whom are treated on a continuing outpatient basis as part of ongoing research programs. The hospital also maintains 60 beds for patients requiring hospitalization during treatment.

St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from more than 70 countries.

Dustin enjoys the cards he has received and is looking forward to receiving more. To send Dustin a card, letter or donation for medical expenses, mail it to Dustin McMurray, c/o St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
