Mother of Local Murder Victim to Appear on TV

The mother of a local resident, who was brutally murdered in 2004, will appear on national television, hoping to find some clues about daughter’s killing.

Joan Berry of Bristol, Tenn., the mother of Johnia Berry, is asking a nationally-known psychic to give her some insight into her daughter’s murder.

Nearly two years after Johnia was killed, Berry takes her search for the murderer to psychic Sylvia Brown who will offer her insight on The Montel Williams Show on Wednesday, Sept. 20.  The Montel Williams Show airs locally on WCYB 5, weekdays at 10 a.m.

According to a website devoted to Johnia’s murder, Johnia Hope Berry was a graduate of East Tennessee State University who moved to Knoxville, Tenn. to enter the master's program at the University of Tennessee. On Dec. 6, 2004, someone entered her Brendon Park Apartment and brutally stabbed her to death. Her killer is still at large.
