Job Expo Set for Nov. 8 at MECC

Students and graduates of Mountain Empire Community College, as well as community members, will have the opportunity to meet employers at the upcoming 2006 Job Expo hosted in the Goodloe Center on campus.

Approximately 35 local and regional employers will attend the event, set for Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 “This will provide an opportunity for current students and recent graduates to network with our local and regional employers,” said Dr. Jessica Genco, Career Services Program Director. 

As of Oct. 5 the list of employers scheduled to attend the event includes: Appalachian Electric Power; American General Life and Accident Insurance Company; the Bristol Tennessee Police Department; Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc.; CGI in Lebanon; Comcast; Cumberland River Coal Company (a subsidiary of Arch Coal); the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries; the Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy; Eastman Chemical Company; the Federal Bureau of Prisons; Friendship Ambulance Service; Holston Medical Group; Josh Morris Staffing; KCG Call Centers; the Kingsport Police Department; Lee County Public Schools; the Lewis-Gale Medical Center; LifeCare Ambulance Services; Lowe’s; Mountain States Health Alliance; Mountain View Regional Medical Center; Norton City Schools; Norton Community Hospital; Paramont Coal Company (a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources); Powell Valley National Bank; Sykes Enterprises; The Results Companies, Inc.; Thompson and Litton; VFP, Inc.; the Virginia Employment Commission and Virginia WorkForce Center; the Virginia State Police; the Virginia State Prisons; Wachovia; Wellmont Health System; and Wise County Public Schools.
