A few more candidates have thrown their hats into the political arena seeking positions in the 2007 election.
A
total of 34 candidates have formally filed candidacy paperwork with the Scott
County Registrar’s office.
Scott County Republicans are holding a mass meeting May 19 to select their candidates for all constitutional offices and seats on the board of supervisors and only a few days remain for candidates to run as Republicans. According to Michelle Jenkins, Vice Chair of the Scott County Republican Party, candidates wanting to run on the Republican ticket need to pre-file their intentions by April 19.
Scott County Democrats are holding their convention June 9 and the party’s rules committee is meeting later this week to decide the last day to allow candidates to file as Democrat candidates.
