DMV Closed for Labor Day

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers (CSC) will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 30 and Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. CSCs will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Extra service windows will be open in DMV offices during the days preceding the holiday to handle any increase in customer traffic.

DMV customer service centers are usually extremely busy the first day after a holiday weekend, so customers are urged to plan ahead. While offices are closed, customers may complete 25 different transactions at www.dmvNOW.com, including vehicle registration renewals. Using the on-line service, customers can update their record instantly and print a receipt to carry with their registration card until their new registration card and decals arrive in the mail.

DMV's automated telephone service (1-888-337-4782) and the mail are other alternatives to visiting a DMV location.
