Convenience Centers Open at Various Locations in Scott County
The centers offer citizens local dump sites that accept large items such as mattresses, as well as scrap metal. In order to receive these services, vehicle must have a county sticker.
Even though supervisors voted to remove county stickers effective in 2010, workers at sites will have to find a way to identify county residents' cars.
The board has voted to discuss ways to solve this problem including adding a smaller decal on car windshields. At this time they have made no definitive plans.
Convenience centers are operated by an attendant and are available only Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- EAST CARTERS VALLEY: 5018 East Carters Valley Rd [From Gate City, go down Wadlow Gap Hwy & turn LEFT onto E. Carters Valley, ~3 mi down on your right]
- HILTONS: 2010 Hilton RD [From Gate City go down 58 towards Bristol 4.1 miles, turn left after Faith Bible Tabernacle Church]
