The Scott County Humane Society is soliciting recipes to be published in a fundraiser cookbook. The SCHS is seeking your family’s absolute favorite recipe(s) and if you have a family story behind the recipe send that as well. They are also accepting pictures of family pets to be published with the recipe. Pictures will be returned. Kickoff for the Scott County Relay for Life 2012 event is set for Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. in the community room of the Scott County Community Services Building in Gate City. Open weekly meetings of Narcotics Anonymous are held each Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Three Bells Methodist Church, 308 Fugate Street in Duffield. Narcotics Anonymous is not meant to imply a focus on any particular drug; NA’s approach makes no distinction between drugs including alcohol. Membership is free, and they have no affiliation with any organizations outside of NA including governments, religions, law enforcement groups, or medical and psychiatric associations.
