Flooding Conditions

Loads of rainfall in the area fell last Thursday night through Friday morning and caused flooding in around many parts of the county including Gate City’s Grogan Park. Sunny conditions this weekend helped to dry up most of the low-lying areas.

Early Morning Accident

An early morning accident in the southbound lanes of Highway 23 near the first Gate City exit caused a major traffic tie-up for workers heading to their jobs in Tennessee with rescue workers on the scene. By mid-morning, the scene was cleared up to free-flowing traffic.
