Scott County Lifesaving Crew celebrated its 65th anniversary Sept. 19. Members joined together to preserve the occasion by wearing different crew uniforms and duty shirts from over the years. SCLSC was officially chartered on Sept. 19, 1958. The organization has provided a great service to our community and we salute them.

Visitor spending in Southwest Virginia reached $1.2 billion, a nearly 10 percent change over 2021. Tourism supported jobs in Southwest Virginia totaled 11,499 while local tourism-related taxes were $59.5 million.
